Lingering on Either Side of a Salty Bunker
A site responsive performative installation (salt, iron, clay, ceramic, sound, Light, video)
Hangout or dwell,
In an unknown terrain.
It’s chosen or re-invited,
Complexity.
A facilitated stance,
Staying in the maze.
Yet, a wind of ease.
Stay with it.
Stay with it.
Salty bunker: inside, outside,
Two passages open.
One holds void,
The other listens.
Who listens to whom?
The question remains.
Perhaps,
Stay there.
With the fragments…
An abandoned patio and a long-sealed bunker had opened their tales. After a year, the salted bunker had breathed again. Its salt stain is merely a sign of a lack of wind or exhausted soil. Salty, rusty aerial roots had been freed from the water glass and had been planted in the efflorescence verse to hang out. The patio had gently shared its wind with the bunker’s salty skin. Ruhin’s substance alchemy had gradually lost its dichotomy inside the salty bunker and accepted the otherness.
These motions might have stirred a new alchemy inside the salty bodies. They had opened the wound or the stain of its exhaustion for a short time. Suffocation had dissolved slowly for a while. The bunker will close again, but the stains will remain. Salty, rusty sediments will quietly gather, and new stories will be stored. Eventually, someone will arrive again, becoming the breeze once more, to stir this terrain…..
