Understanding Bangladesh Sitch, July, 2024
Facilitated by Other India
An inclusive discussion and poster-writing workshop responding to the Bangladesh student movement (July 2024), addressing ongoing state violence and mass repression under dictatorship. The workshop reflects on political entanglement, collective resistance, and the vulnerability of minor communities, bringing together artists, researchers, cultural activists, and students from Bangladesh, Assam, West Bengal, and Delhi.
Invited by Otherindias at Framer Framed, Amsterdam, the project situates poster-making as an urgent artistic gesture—where text, image, and collective voice operate as tools of solidarity and witnessing. Rather than representation, the work foregrounds immediacy, positioning artistic practice as a responsive and shared act within moments of political crisis.
